In 2023, the U.S. Surgeon General's office published a report on "Our Epidemic of Loneliness and Isolation." The report details some of the harmful effects this epidemic can have on the social well-bing of communities and even physical health of individuals.

Lightward Bound exists to help bring more light into our culture and into the lives of people. Positive connections with people can help bring more of that light into our lives and can dispell some of the loneliness and isolation we live in.

That is the whole point and purpose of Sparkle Social. It is to be a place where we can meet online, connect, and give and receive support and encouragement. In addition, I believe an important aspect of this connection process will be to meet in person, as well. As Sparkle Social gets going, I intend to set up what we might call "Sparkle Meetings" to meet on occasion to make in-person connections with the friends we make here online.
